An article on Balancing Speed vs Story Flow in Publication Planning, authored by Karen King and Jason Gardner of CMC, has recently been published in the official newsletter of the International Society of Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) – The MAP.

In the context of recent regulations concerning disclosure of clinical trial information and data, the article discusses how publication planning to achieve a ‘story flow’ is dated, inappropriate and should be avoided.

The authors state that, “Speed is likely to become one of the most important factors in publication planning. The driver for this is to provide the medical and scientific communities with complete, balanced, and transparent data in a timely manner, which allows them to make informed and appropriate decisions for people with medical conditions”.
